About Dawson

Dawson College was founded in Montreal after it got its charter in 1968. The college was named after McGill University principal Sir William Dawson. It was the first English College in the CEGEP network that was founded in 1967. Dawson grew from having accepted 1500 students its first year open in 1969, to having around 10,000 students in attendance today. The school campus changed locations from Selby street, also known formerly as the Charles E. Frost building, to the Sherbrook location which now holds Dawson wholly.
